At the nudgings of the people I know, I am getting another strip out for you unwashed masses. This one is inspired by true events, as I was up until 3:30 a.m. with Linksys trying to figure out why the router I bought wasn't working. After troubleshooting it for more than a few HOURS, I decided to hook it up to my system and test it. It worked fine. That leads me to believe that my system is running well within acceptable parameter, and Saira's system is, technically speaking,a big icky pile of stinky poop. I am now living in a house of my own for the first time since I was 16. It's nice, but now I have to go out and buy stuff. All the time. Not just big stuff either, like an oven, dishwasher... stuff we do need. I'm talking wierd stuff like the little plate that goes under the front door and outlet plates... stuff that I usually never paid any attention to. We don't have any of these things, but I have MY STEREO hooked up, by God! I finally, after months of waiting, have hooked by beautiful sound system back up and have immersed myself in 5.1 DTS surround sound as loud as I goddamned please. It's not the best sound system ever, but at least it's mine. I just got back from DragonCon. That's nerdspeak for 'money sponge'. I got off on loot from that place on the last day, though. I'm broke as hell, but I saved hundreds. I got myself a buttload of Ultimate Marvel statue busts of my favorite superheroes. It's not... dignified, I know, but I have to decorate my computer room with something. I can't think of anything better than a German 'Serenity' poster signed by two of the actors. Sweet.
